Iru Mugan: Vikram has always been known for choosing fresh stories that have new content. This movie gained more popularity after the teaser had come out,  following that the trailer raised the expectations. Did Iru Mugan live up to its expectations?

The story revolves around a clash between a ruthless RAW agent Akilan (Vikram) and a deadly drug lord Love (Vikram). The movie  has a flashback where Akilan had destructed the underworld drug mafia of Love and assumed he had killed her, paying a huge price of losing his techie wife Meera (Nayanthara). When Akilan comes to know that Love is still alive he decides  to take up this case. What happens to Love? Does Akilan succeed in taking revenge? Watch the movie to know!

Vikram was outstanding as both the characters he played(Akilan and Love). He did everything to make sure these two characters are played perfect. Nayanthara(Meera) had also great job of playing her role which had good importance in the story. Nithya Menon had done a good job of playing an agent who help Akilan. Thambi Ramaiah has done his best to bring some laughter during some scenes while Karunakaran has a really small role.

The movie had beautiful visuals of Malaysia and Kashmir. The cinematography was really good. The background score by Harris had given more life to certain scenes, another huge plus of this movie is that it has a perfect cast. Although the run time of the movie is a bit long which makes some scenes a bit lengthy. The movie should have had faster pace.

VERDICT: VIKRAM’S LOVE’LY PERFORMANCE OF BOTH ROLES IS A HUGE PLUS. IRU MUGAN MAY NOT BE PERFECT BUT IT HAS THE STUFF  TO BE AN ENTERTAINING WEEKEND WATCH.
