24: The expected Sci-fi film is finally out! The film was talked about since the first look, and had become more popular among people after its trailer released.Time travel has always been an interesting topic but was it handled properly? Did the film live up to the expectations?
The film begins with Dr Sethuraman’s (Suriya) invention of a time machine. He is a famed watchmaker and inventor, living with his wife Priya (Nithya Menen) and their son Mani(Suriya). But his look-alike twin brother Athreya(Suriya) wants and plans to have the time machine, which is in the form of a watch, for himself. But Sethuraman manages to save both his son and his invention by giving up his own life. Sethu leaves his baby and his watch in a protective cover with a lady he meets on a train. Athreya catches up with his brother and kills him, but gets incapacitated in the process and goes into a coma for 26 years.
The incidents which happen after 26 years builds up the plot for the story. To know what happens with Athreya and Mani will they ever know about each other or will Athreya be succesful in acquiring the watch. To know that you will have to watch the film.
Speaking of performances:-
Suriya’s role of Athreya can be added to one of the best roles he’s played till now. The other two roles Dr.Sethuraman and Mani were also played really well, but the role of Athreya outshone these two. Samantha played love interest of Mani she did do neat job of her role, but there were some scenes which made the film lose its pace. Sarayana played the mother of Mani as usual she had done a good job. Nithya menon had played the role of Dr Sethuramans wife.
The techincal department of this film deserves recognition, the CGI involved in this film was good, there were few scenes where the camera angles and editing are worth of being mentioned. Director Vikram Kumar has done his best to deliver a neat Sci-Fi film although there were a few commercial love type scenes in the film that seemed dragging but that’s okay. AR Rahman had added more energy to certain scenes with background scores. Songs seemed out of place.
Verdict:- PROJECT 24 IS SUBMITTED NEATLY WITH FRESH AND NEW CONTENT. APART FROM A FEW DRAGGING SCENES AND ROUTINE SONG PLACEMENTS, TEAM 24 HAS TAKEN ALL THE EFFORTS TO MAKE THIS A SPECIAL FILM.
